El'egg'ant Ornaments started four years ago as a hobby and a love for crafting. The first ornaments were a tradition of handmaking a new Christmas ornament with my kids each year. My son then needed an idea for the entrepreneur fair, so we thought of making ornaments along with many other ideas. These ornaments stood out to me as an entrepreneur because of the recycling of natural eggshells and the low cost of production for a classic and elegant product. We made a few dozen that year they were a bit unpolished at the time, but I couldn't stop thinking of how to make them better. In my journey of going back to school and finishing my college degree I have continued the entrepreneur side focusing on the IT aspect finishing my degree in computer programming with creating the website as a class project for a data driven web pages class. Over the last few years, we have perfected the design and eggsecution of the perfect ornament. The process starts with the egg and not the chicken... We take the egg and insert two holes one on the top and one on the bottom. We extract the egg with a pipette. We clean, sanitize, and dry the shell. We use a Dremel tool to perfect the holes in the top and bottom. A hook is inserted in the top of the ornament and the Christmas scene is sketched on the egg. We then take the egg and pour a clear cast epoxy over the egg making it more durable and creating a classic finish. These ornaments can be customized and personalized to create the perfect addition to your Christmas decorations.
